Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of this Website and by accessing this Website and/or placing an order or requesting a delivery you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below.

Use of the Website

These terms and conditions apply to your order/delivery request. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to future orders/delivery requests.

Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods. By registering for the services, customers agree to these Terms and Conditions and agree that:

  • The personal information which you are required to provide when you register as a customer is true, accurate, current and complete in all respects.
  • You will notify us immediately of any changes to the personal information by updating your details on the 'My Details' page on the Website or by contacting Cooplands Customer Service.
  • You agree not to impersonate any other person or entity or to use a false name or a name that you are not authorised to use.

To comply with legislation Cooplands via this Website is available only to those aged 18 years and over.

Privacy Policy

We confirm that any personal information which you provide to us (or which is available on public registers) and any user information from which we can identify you, is held in accordance with the registration we have with the Data Commissioner's Office. We use your information only for the following purposes:

  • Processing your orders.
  • For statistical purposes to improve this Website and its services to you.
  • To serve Website content and advertisements to you
  • To administer this Website
  • If you consent, to notify you of products or special offers that may be of interest to you

You agree that you do not object to us contacting you for any of the above purposes whether by telephone, e-mail or in writing and you confirm that you do not and will not consider any of the above as being a breach of any of your rights under the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

Your personal information may be disclosed to other sub-divisions of Cooplands (Doncaster) Ltd and to reputable third parties who will help process your order. Cooplands require all such third parties to treat your personal information as fully confidential and to fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislation from time to time in place. We will not release your Personal Information to any company outside of Cooplands for mailing or marketing purposes.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to:

  • modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this Website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or
  • change the Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website

Ordering and Lead Times

  • We require 4 days notice on all cakes ordered, but would advise at least 14 days notice for wedding cakes. Please order as early as you can.
  • Where ever possible order your cake for the day before it is required.
  • We can usually take orders at shorter notice, but this does depend on the volume of work at the time and does incur a late order charge of 10% (minimum of £5). Please contact us directly to place an order at short notice.
  • Please check your order thoroughly before payment. For bespoke cakes, our decorators can only create the finished article from what they interpret from the wording of your order. It is not possible to create exact specifications when modeling food, just a graphical representation.
  • If an inscription, colour or any other choice is left un-selected on your order then we reserve the right to use our own discretion. You will always be e-mailed order confirmation. Please check it and notify us if anything is not correct.
  • Cake stands (such as the S shape metal one) are available for hire and need pre-booking well in advance to avoid disappointment. Cake stand hire is subject to a minimum charge of £10 per function, payable when booking your stand, £5 per day thereafter. We require a £50 deposit on collection which is refundable when the stand is returned. To trim the .S. stand in your cake colours costs an extra £5.

Edible Image Cake Ordering

  • Using the latest technology we are able to reproduce any photograph or image in edible inks on the top of the cake. Add £10 for the first image and £5 for every additional one thereafter.
  • Editing and altering images may involve extra charges.
  • We can scan and print any photograph or image. When ever an image is scanned and printed the quality deteriorates so make sure you give us the best quality pictures you can.
  • If you wish to supply a digital picture, we only accept jpg images (Pronounced j-peg). You will be prompted to upload this image when placing your order on line.

Amendments to Orders

24 hours after your cake has been ordered and paid for, any further alteration will carry a 10% administration fee (minimum of £5).

Payment

We only accept full payment on purchases from the website.

Collection and Delivery Arrangements

  • Collections are only available during the standard Cooplands branch trading hours. These vary from branch to branch so please be sure to check.
  • If you fail to collect your shopping the store will inform Customer Service who will contact you to arrange an alternative collection time.
  • Goods must be signed for upon collection (or at the delivery address) by you, or by your nominated representative who must be aged 18 or above. Under no circumstances will goods be left unattended, for example in a garage, or with anybody below the age of 18.
  • We do not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • If no one is available to accept and sign for the delivery, a card will be left asking you to contact Cooplands Customer Service to arrange an alternative delivery date. A re-delivery fee will be charged.

Errors/Shortages

Cooplands may decline to fulfill any order, including bulk purchase of items on promotion or included in a special offer.

In the event of there being errors or shortages, these should be brought to our attention at the time you collect the cake or have it delivered. Corrections and repairs to cakes, including inscription mistakes, can be corrected. You are required to inform us at this time to give us the opportunity to rectify the matter.

Cancellation Rights

A 10% cancellation charge (minimum of £5) will be incurred 24 hours after the order has been placed and paid for.

There will be no refund on cakes cancelled less than 7 days prior to the collection or delivery date.

Notice of such cancellation must be given in writing to Cooplands Customer Service.

Guarantees and Returns

  • Customers are covered by our quality guarantee on every product. Should the customer not be entirely satisfied, Cooplands will refund and replace any item subject to due compliance by the customer with these Terms & Conditions. Please contact the Cooplands Customer Service department with any queries.
  • Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or mis-described goods. For further information about your statutory rights contact your local authority, Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
  • Any refunds for returned items will be made after the goods have been returned. Cakes, or part of cakes, must be returned within three days to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint.
  • Images are provided to help select products. Due to our products being hand crafted these may not reflect exactly the product you receive.

Complaints are very rare and so we take them very seriously. Some complaints may require further investigation and an immediate refund may not always be possible. The maximum refund we offer is the value of the cake and delivery. Further compensation is not available.
